SinglesPlus is a community-driven platform for real-world connections, moving beyond swipe-based dating through curated events and meetups.

To address fragmented, manual user flows, this phase focused on redesigning the brand foundation and onboarding system, enabling a structured, scalable experience that builds trust, reduces friction, and supports product growth.

Understanding the problem

Existing System

User acquisition, registration, and verification were handled manually via Instagram, DMs, and on-ground events, with no centralized system.

Scaling Challenges

Fragmented data, inconsistent verification, and manual workflows limited reliability and scalability across users and geographies.

Product Shift

Rebranding to SinglesPlus came with a vision to expand the audience and evolve the product from an event-led model to a broader social and dating platform.

Opportunity

Build a centralized, scalable system with a dynamic onboarding experience for different user intents to enable consistency, trust, and future growth.

Designing one generic flow would either:

  • Ask too much from new users, or

  • Block high-intent users from quick access

We reframed onboarding as a state-based system rather than a checklist.

Approach

Prioritizing user intent

I mapped user states based on verification, existing data, and intent allowing onboarding to adapt dynamically without duplicating flows.

Designing for drop-off recovery

Designing for drop-off recovery

Social apps require detailed data, but early friction leads to drop-off. I structured onboarding into progressive, independently saved steps, enabling users to resume easily, recover from failures, and avoid re-entering data.

Edge cases were defined upfront to reduce ambiguity, with STOP pages introduced to enforce platform rules without blocking progress.

The old red palette felt jarring and evoked food-delivery branding. I retained red for brand continuity but refined it to a softer, cooler tone.

The logo was redesigned to align with the new brand identity, balancing a youthful tone with a contemporary aesthetic. The inverted “S” retains a sense of playfulness, while the two dots symbolize connection.

Iterations

Early designs used fully rounded, pill-shaped components. Feedback from the team indicated this felt overly playful. I refined the system to achieve more contemporary and structured components.

Next Steps

Next Steps

This phase marks the first foundational step in building SinglesPlus as a scalable product.

  • We plan to deepen onboarding personalization through user research and usability testing to validate and refine the experience.

  • Insights from this research will inform improvements in flow, prompts, and progression based on user intent.

  • In parallel, the team is defining the next steps to shape the complete product experience.
